While it may not appear that I am trying to live healthy, I am, sort of.
I mention this because the other day I read an article in Men’s Journal titled, “The Top 30 Muscle-building Foods.”
The list includes a lot of foods that I already eat, a lot, and enjoy, a lot, like eggs, nuts, cottage cheese, lean beef, chicken (the article stated “rotisserie chicken” so I’m thinking grilled chicken is the same thing), brown rice, beans, turkey and shrimp.
Now for the rest of the list, which I found, well, entertaining.
For example, bison. OK, whatever.
And wild boar. Seriously? Wild boar?
Also, chia seeds, hemp seed, quinoa and tempeh. To be honest, I’ve never heard of any of these, can’t even spell ‘em.
Now, considering the holidays are upon us, and my wife makes a lot of goodies without any of that stuff I can’t spell as part of the ingredients, I’m thinking I’ll make my own list — “The Top 30 Smile-building Foods,” with gingerbread cookies at the top of the list.
