Cir­cle K robbed; sus­pect in cus­tody

A man is in cus­tody in the armed rob­bery of a con­ve­nience store late Wed­nes­day night, Yuma po­lice said Fri­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a Yuma Po­lice Depart­ment news re­lease, of­fi­cers re­sponded at about 11:45 p.m. to a re­port of an armed rob­bery in the 1700 block of South 4th Av­enue. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed a male sus­pect en­tered the Cir­cle K at 1798 S. 4th Ave., took items and de­manded money while show­ing a weapon in his waist band, po­lice said. The sus­pect then fled on foot.

Of­fi­cers ar­rived on scene, YPD said, and later lo­cated the sus­pect, Johnathan Mo­rales, 27. He was taken into cus­tody and booked on mul­ti­ple felony of­fenses.

There were no re­ported in­juries.
