I-8 lane closures in effect through Jan. 31
Pavement work could delay traffic between Paloma, Painted Rock roads
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on I-8 between Paloma and Painted Rock roads beginning at 7 a.m. weekdays from now through the end of January.
Contractors are scheduled to install raised pavement markings and do seeding for natural vegetation near the project site. The work is part of a project to improve pavement between mileposts 96 and 106 on I-8 west of Gila Bend.
I-8 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between Paloma and Painted Rock roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 7 a.m. to noon on Fridays.
A 14-foot vehicle-width restriction will be in place.
Restrictions will be lifted on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr./Civil Rights Day.
Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan for delays while construction is underway. Drivers should obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.
Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For more information, please call the ADOT Project Information Line at (855) 712-8530 or email Projects@azdot.gov.
