Munoz re­ceives 2 awards at cer­e­mony


SAN LUIS, Ariz. — San Luis City Hall re­cently hon­ored em­ploy­ees for job per­for­mance and for years of ser­vice to the city.

Among those rec­og­nized dur­ing a city coun­cil ses­sion on Wed­nes­day was Maria Muñoz, a ben­e­fits co­or­di­na­tor in the city’s hu­man re­sources depart­ment, who was pre­sented with two awards, Em­ployee of the Year for 2018 and Em­ployee of the fourth quar­ter of 2018.

Muñoz, who joined the city a year ago, was hon­ored for what the awards nom­i­nat­ing com­mit­tee said was her “abil­ity to suc­cess­fully com­plete a wide range of ex­tra work and de­mand­ing tasks over sev­eral months.”

The Award of Ex­cel­lence for the fourth quar­ter went to the city’s pub­lic works depart­ment, while the main­te­nance divi­sion of the city’s Parks and Recre­ation Depart­ment re­ceived the Award of Achieve­ment.

Richard Bauer­mann, an in­spec­tor for the San Luis Fire Depart­ment, re­ceived the Cus­tomer Ser­vice Award, and Estela Diaz, a jan­i­to­rial em­ployee was cho­sen as New Em­ployee of the Year. Bauer­mann was also hon­ored for 10 years of ser­vice with the city.

Maria Sa­bori, a risk man­age­ment em­ployee in the hu­man re­sources, was hon­ored for 20 years of ser­vice. So­corro Ay­ala, a po­lice depart­ment em­ployee, and An­gel­ica Ci­fuentes, a fi­nance em­ployee, were rec­og­nized for 15 years of ser­vices.

Hon­ored for five years of ser­vice were Ra­mon Dueñas, Luis Gil and Edgar Her­rera, all pub­lic works depart­ment em­ploy­ees, and Peter Juarez, a po­lice depart­ment em­ployee.
