South Frontage Road: Fortuna Road to Foothills Blvd. Overlay What’s New... Yuma County is constructing a new pavement overlay as well as widening segments of the South Frontage Rd to provide for new turn lanes.
South Frontage Rd: 02/11/19 thru 02/13/19: Contractor will be working on grading new ABC shoulders between Foothills Blvd and Scottsdale Drive.
02/14/19 thru 2/15/19: Contractor will complete temporary striping and signing over new roadway.
Traffic Control: Motorist should expect short term delays while work is taking place since contractor will be using a flaggers to control vehicular traffic . Use of alternate routes is recommended.
FarWest Avenue: 2/11/19 thru 2/15/19: Contractor will be removing existing pavement and grading the intersection to place new Asphaltic Concrete Pavement transition.
Traffic Control: Contractor will be using a flaggers to control vehicular traffic access into Farwest Avenue . Use of alternate routes is recommended.
Yuma County is installing a new storm drain system to alleviate flooding at several locations in the Foothills. The contractor is currently working at the following locations: Hunter Avenue, between Patricia
Drive & Brenda drive: 02/11/19 thru 02/15/19: Contractor will be grading roadway for new pavement. Road will be closed to thru traffic. Detour will be installed thru 34th Street. Hunter Avenue, between Brenda drive & Tanja Drive: 02/11/19 thru 02/13/19: Southwest Gas will be boring this segment and will abandon existing gas line. Once SWG completes their work contractor will be working on completing storm drain catch basins, Road will be closed to thru traffic, but detour will be provided thru Tanja Drive & 34th Street. Renee Avenue, between
34th St & 36th Street: 02/11/19 thru 02/13/19: Contractor to continue grading roadway for new pavement, Renee Avenue to be opened to traffic on 02/15/19. Road will be closed to thru traffic, detour will be thru Cassidy Drive and Patricia Drive to Farwest Avenue. Bonnie Avenue at 36th Place: 02/11/19 thru 02/15/19: Contractor has two underground crews installing Storm Drain pipeline, one crew is working on Bonnie Avenue and second crew along 36th Place. Intersection will be closed to thru traffic while the contractor is working on this segment. Detour is in place around 37th Street & Hunter Avenue.
Road Closures: Motorists can expect delays as several crews are conducting work, drivers are urged to pay close attention to work zone signs. Traffic control will be in place to detour traffic around road closures.
Utility work: Southwest Gas is in the process of replacing gas lines at Hunter Avenue, Bonnie Avenue, and 34th Street. Utility contractor will be coordinating with County to maintain detour routes accessible while their work is taking place. GRAVEL ROAD MAINTENANCE: Route 1: South of Co 8th St & West of Somerton Ave
