Fire House Facts
From Sunday, July 7, through Saturday, July 13, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 252 emergency calls for service, including:
• 12 General Fire Response
Including: 1 for a blown power transformer, 1 for a residential gas leak, 1 for a small fire in a vacant warehouse, 2 for apartment fires extinguished by fire sprinkler systems, and various alarms.
• 15 Motor Vehicle Crashes
Including: 1 involving a pedestrian, 1 involving 3 vehicles, 1 involving a wall, 2 involving rollovers, 1 involving a building, and 2 involving head-on collisions.
• 211 Other Medical Emergencies (serious to minor)
Including: 29 for difficulty breathing, 12 for chest pain, 34 for falls, 11 for unconscious people, 6 seizure cases, 1 possible stroke case, 3 for intoxicated persons, 15 for people with psychiatric problems, 5 heat related cases, 3 for medical alarms, 1 for choking, 17 for altered or decreased level of consciousness, 1 for fever, 1 for broken bones, 5 diabetic emergencies, 1 for an unknown insect bite, 11 for man down calls, 2 for uncontrolled bleeding, 2 for bad headaches, 4 for assaults, 1 for back pain, 4 for abdominal pain, 2 pregnancy related, 1 for a deceased person, 4 for lacerations, 1 for a pepper sprayed person, 1 for a person with leg cramps unable to get out of a pool, and other illnesses and injuries.

Including: 1 for a dumpster fire, 1 for people stuck in an elevator, 2 for vehicle fires, 1 for property that fell off a truck and was burning on the roadway, 1 for a power transformer on fire, 1 for a small brush fire, and various alarms.
