Guns don’t kill people, people do

-

I would like to take this opportunity to thank WalMart for leading the way in gun safety. Now that they have stated they will stop selling certain ammunition and gradually stop selling handguns, we can rest safer at night.

I would like to also take this opportunity to ask them to go the next step. Since banning the open carry of firearms and cessation of selling certain ammunition will stop gun violence, let’s have them stop selling food, as it is one of the primary causes of diabetes and heart disease due to high cholesterol.

Let’s also stop the sale of clothes, as some causes body shaming. Let’s also immediately halt the sale of barbeques as they contribute to air pollution. No more tire sales due to the environmental impact old tires have. Let’s also stop the sale of bicycles, as they cause countless scraped knees when kids fall off. No more TV, music or video game sales because they allow kids to stay inside and not play outside and get proper exercise.

What?! My list sounds ridiculous? It was supposed to. Everything I listed can and does cause the things I stated but when we as adults follow the instructions, use in moderation or basically be responsible with them, they can all be beneficial. Including guns and ammunition.

You don’t see them ban cars because people speed or drive drunk or reckless, they punish the person doing it. Just the same should be done with people who use firearms and ammunition irresponsibly. Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. I have walked by gun counters in many different places and have NEVER seen a gun shoot and kill someone.
