Mayor to host North End neighborhood meeting Oct. 24
Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls invites residents to attend neighborhood meetings to be hosted in a variety of Yuma neighborhoods, with the first being held for North End residents at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The purpose is to offer residents the opportunity to talk with Nicholls in their neighborhood at an after-hours time that is more accessible.
The community will have the opportunity to ask questions, openly discuss how to make the Yuma community better, and engage in conversations with the mayor about any issue critical to their neighborhood or community.
Translating assistance for Spanish speakers will be available for those who need it.
“Actively listening to the community’s input is key to being able to serve the community to the best of my ability,” Nicholls said. “I appreciate those who email, call, and come to City Council meetings. I hope to reach all parts of the community to connect with residents of all ages, occupations and neighborhoods.”
The first neighborhood meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the John Morris Cottage in Carver Park, 385 S. 13th Ave. Future meetings will be held throughout the city, with locations to be announced at a future date.
Comment cards will be available at the neighborhood meetings for residents who would like to ask a question or leave a comment anonymously.
Reservations are not required. Questions regarding the event can be directed to Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator Lucy Valencia via email at Lucy. Valencia@YumaAz.gov.
