Warriors’ Taylor has quadruple-double on Senior Night

San Pasqual boys blow out Bagdad

San Pasqual’s DeShane Taylor had a Senior Night to remember Thursday night against Bagdad.

Taylor, one of two Warrior seniors playing their final regularsea­son home game, put up a quadruple-double in San Pasqual’s 82-36 victory. He scored 21 points to go along with 13 rebounds, 13 assists and 10 steals.

The team’s other senior, Josh White, also stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, 14 rebounds, six assists and nine steals.

Not to be forgotten, junior Jara Amador scored 30 points and had six steals.

San Pasqual (8-5 AIA, 3-2 region), ranked No. 12 in 1A as of Thursday, is currently in position to make the postseason for the first time since 2011, with one regularsea­son game remaining.

MORE PREP BOYS HOOPS Cibola 71, Kofa 28

Stone Braveheart had 11 points for the Kings (4-8 AIA, 1-1 region). Stats for Cibola (10-4, 2-0) were not reported.

Buckeye 71, Yuma High 45

Alex Mosqueda and Zach Moody (15 points each) were the leading scorers for the Criminals (4-12 AIA, 1-5 region).

Gilbert Classical 41, Antelope 38

William Whitley scored 12 points for the Rams (3-9 AIA, 1-6 region), while Dylan Thomas grabbed 16 rebounds.

Myna Johnson (23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals), Madison Mathews (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Ariana Luera (12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals) led the way for the Raiders (13-2 AIA, 2-0 region).

Gila Ridge 48, San Luis 34

Molly Sims (26 points, 8 rebounds) led the way for the Hawks (8-6 AIA), who snapped a four-game losing streak.

San Pasqual 57, Bagdad 43

Like Taylor for the boys team, San Pasqual’s Mary Amador had a big Senior Night with 35 points and 11 rebounds.

Kristina Mendez added five points and eight rebounds for the

Warriors (10-3 AIA, 3-2 region), while Era Hirales pulled down 10 boards.

PREP GIRLS SOCCER Cibola 3, San Luis 1

Lizbeth Rubio, Itzel Meza and Sydney West did the scoring for the Raiders (4-5-2 AIA, 2-1 region), who snapped a five-game winless streak with the victory. at No. 24 in the 6A state rankings are right on the postseason bubble.

Rubio scored the game’s only first-half goal off a Bianca Navarro assist. After San Luis (4-7, 0-3) tied it, Meza put the Raiders back in front off a Rubio assist. West added an unassisted insurance goal.

Cibola, which at No. 24 in the 6A state rankings is right on the postseason bubble, has one regularsea­son game remaining (Tuesday at Kofa).
