n the Desert Hills Men’s Golf Association May 2-man best ball, Gabe Plaza and John Holbrook won loss gross with a 64. Fernando Campa and Randy Norred were second with a 69. Dustin Taulbee and Kevin Villegas won net with a 60. Felipe Aragon and Felipe Aragon Jr. tied Gonzo Zaragoza and Frank Ybarra for second with 61s.
Mesa del Sol is hosting lesson clinics for juniors on Tuesdays. Mesa del Sol will also host a junior competition each Thursday. Currently, lesson groups are divided into a group preparing for high school golf, or from 12 to 17 years of age and a beginners group for those 9 years of age and up. The junior competitions will be divided into age groups with beginners playing nine holes and others playing 18 holes. For additional information, contact paul@stratisgolf.com.
At Las Barrancas in the Silver League, David Richelderfer and Rollie Harris won gross. Paul McLaughlin and Greg Beatie were the net winners. Johnny Campbell, Lyle Wheeler, Larry Garrett and Gary Kuehl were the team winners. In the Copper League, Tony Hammons, Rollie Harris and Art McLaughlin were the gross winners. Brian Healy, Al Smith and Larry Nicholson won net.
In the Foothills Men’s League, David Richelderfer and Rollie Harris were the gross winners. Larry Nicholson and Al Smith won net. Norm Rockwell, Buddy Hartley, Ken Kingston and Michael Costello were the team winners.
In the Mesa del Sol Monday Quota League, Bill Dowding won first with 5.65 points. Steve Parrish was second with
5.64 points. Bob Lauer was third and Lola Stone fourth.
In the Moose Lodge scramble, the team of Randy Labrasseur, Chuck Holland, Juan Batista and Bob ewers won with a 35. The team of Randy Stickles, Evelyn Pribble, Wojo and Dolores Vrooman tied the team of Bob Lauer, Ken Rose, Jacque Corbett and Van Buskirk for second with 37s.
In Pinky’s Picks at Mesa del Sol, Bob Rehn finished first, Steve Parrish was second with Hank Browning third and Marilyn Cotter fourth.
In the Mesa del Sol Men’s Twilight League combined total event, JR Henderson and John Holbrook won gross with an 80. The teams of Gary Golembiski and Steve Schulte, Terry Horsman and Todd Birney, and Patrick Farrell and Greg Cullison tied for low net with 72s. John Holbrook continued his dominance in the spring point race. This week’s event is a BIG CUP, Long Course Scramble.
In the Mesa del Sol Mixed Friday League scotch ball format, winners of the first flight were Garrett McKeeman and Hank Browning with a 75. Shannon Mason and Harry McKemy were second shooting 76. Second flight winners were Gina White and Jack Parker with a 68. Lola Stone and Marilyn Cotter were second with a 72.
In the Mesa del Sol Mixed Friday Twilight League shamble, Aaron Miller and John Holbrook won low gross with a 32. Patrick Farrell and Bryan Allen won net with a 30. Four teams tied for second at 33: Glenn Matthews and Brandon Ordway, Mark Myers and Gary Golembiski, Brad Grosse and Jim Wright and Joe Lesniak and Jonathan Kennedy. Next Friday’s event is a BIG CUP, little cup best ball.
