Monday Jan. 4 WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA CLEANUP

WHERE: Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 S 1st Avenue

GOING ON: Volunteers are needed to pick up all the wreaths on veterans’ graves at the cemetery.

Wednesday HISTORIC YUMA WALKING TOURS

WHEN: 10:30 a.m.-noon, Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27

WHERE: Gardens at the Sanguinett­i House Museum, 240 S. Madison Ave.

GOING ON: Storytelle­r Steve Cook recounts Yuma’s colorful history as he leads a pet-friendly walking tour of the historic downtown. It is recommende­d that participan­ts wear comfortabl­e sneakers and bring water bottles. Masks or face coverings are required. Participan­ts should arrive 15 minutes early.

Wednesday Jan. 13 YRMC BLOOD DRIVE

WHEN: 2-6 p.m.

WHERE: Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive

GOING ON: Yuma Regional Medical Center and the City of Yuma have teamed up with Vitalant to host a blood drive. Donors will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies, but not for the presence of COVID-19. All donors must wear a mask or face covering. Advance appointmen­ts are required to help maintain social distancing.
