Knicks to acquire Rose, who rejoins Thibodeau

Derrick Rose is reuniting with Tom Thibodeau after a trade that brings him back to New York.

The Knicks agreed to acquire the former NBA MVP from the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, a person with knowledge of the details said.

Evans scores 27 to help No. 1 Louisville hold off ND

Dana Evans scored 27 points, including five late, to lead No. 1 Louisville to a 71-65 victory over Notre Dame on Sunday.

Tigres in Club World Cup final

Mexico’s Tigres beat Palmeiras 1-0 in the Club World Cup semifinals on Sunday to become the first CONCACAF team to reach the final of the tournament.

No other winner of the CONCACAF Champions League, which includes Central and North American teams, has previously gone that far.

André-Pierre Gignac scored the winner from the penalty spot in the 54th minute.

Tigres’ opponent will be known on Monday, when European champion Bayern Munich faces African champion Al Ahly of Egypt in the other semifinal. Bayern won the Club World Cup in 2013.

Cavaliers F Nance to miss 6 weeks with broken hand

A tough stretch for the Cavaliers just got a lot tougher.

Cleveland will be without versatile forward Larry Nance for six weeks after he broke his left hand during Saturday’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Nance, who has missed several recent games with a sprained right wrist, broke the fourth metacarpal in his hand during the first quarter of the 124-99 loss as the Cavaliers dropped back-to-back games against one of the NBA’s best teams.

It’s not yet known if Nance will have surgery.
