FLYERS 2, Rangers 1: Sam Morin scored his first NHL goal with 4:27 left in the game as Philadelphia won. Nolan Patrick also scored for the Flyers. The Flyers moved into fifth place ahead of the Rangers in the East Division.
BRUINS 3, Sabres 2 : The Buffalo Sabres lost their 17th consecutive game. Craig Smith scored with 3:50 left to snap a third-period tie and give Boston the victory. Matt Grzelcyk and Nick Ritchie each had a goal and an assist for Boston.
Golden Knights 3, AVALANCHE 2 (OT) : Max Pacioretty scored at 1:56 of overtime to give Vegas a win to move two points ahead of Colorado atop the West Division. Joonas Donskoi and Devon Toews scored for Colorado.
RED WINGS 3, Blue Jackets 1 : Adam
Erne and Robby Fabbri scored 29 seconds apart in the first period, and Calvin Pickard made 21 saves in his first start of the season for Detroit.
HURRICANES 4, Lightning 3 : Martin Necas scored his second goal of the game to break a tie with 3:53 remaining . Blake Coleman and Pat Maroon scored in the first period for Tampa Bay.
MAPLE LEAFS 4, Oilers 3 (OT) : Auston Matthews scored 54 seconds into over
time as Toronto defeated Edmonton. Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists for Edmonton.
PENGUINS 6, Islanders 3: Bryan Rust got his fourth career hat trick, and Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh. Mathew Barzal ended a 10-game goal drought by picking up his 10th of the season for New York.
Predators 3, BLACKHAWKS 1 : Mikael Grunland, Rocco Grimaldi and Ryan Johansen scored for the Nashville in its fourth consecutive win. Pius Suter scored for the Blackhawks.
Panthers 4, STARS 3 (OT) : Aaron Ekblad scored with 9.3 seconds left in overtime after his apparent winner moments earlier was wiped out by a replay review. Denis Gurianov, John Klingberg and Joel L’Esperance scored for Dallas.
Sharks at COYOTES, late : Conor Garland leads the Coyotes with 17 assists and has 26 points this season. Evander Kane leads the Sharks with 29 points, scoring 14 goals and adding 15 assists.
Jets at FLAMES, late : Elias Lindholm leads the Flames with a plus-six in 35 games this season. Mark Scheifele leads the Jets with 27 total assists and has 40 points.
