PENGUINS 4, Devils 2: Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust each scored their 20th goal of the season, and the Penguins beat the Devils. Crosby is the 36th in NHL history to have 13 or more 20-plus goal seasons.
BLUES 5, Avalanche 3: Ryan O’Reilly had a hat trick to lead the Blues to a win over the Avalanche. Jordan Binnington made 28 saves as St. Louis snapped a threegame skid.
FLAMES 5, Canadiens 2: Johnny Gaudreau scored twice and the Flames beat the Canadiens. Milan Lucic, Brett Ritchie and Rasmus Andersson also scored to improve to 6-1 against Montreal this year.
Stars 2, RED WINGS 1 (OT): Jamie Benn scored 32 seconds into overtime, lifting the Stars to a win over the Red Wings. Dallas outshot Detroit by more than three times.
Capitals 6, ISLANDERS 3: Daniel Sprong scored twice in injured Alex Ovechkin’s place on Washington’s top line, Ilya Samsonov made 21 saves and the Capitals beat the Islanders. Evgeny Kutznetsov had a goal and two assists.
PANTHERS 4, Hurricanes 3 (OT): Aleksander Barkov scored 24 seconds into overtime to help the Panthers tighten up the Central with a win over the Panthers.
Maple Leafs 4, JETS 1: Mitch Marner scored his 100th NHL goal to help the Maple Leafs beat the Jets. John Tavares, Joe Thornton and Alexander Kerfoot also scored for Toronto.
Wild 6, SHARKS 3: Ryan Suter scored 19 seconds in, Kirill Kaprizov scored for the fifth straight game and the Wild clinched a playoff spot with a victory over the Sharks.
Golden Knights 5, DUCKS 1: Chandler Stephenson scored two goals in the first period and the Golden Knights cruised to their franchise-record ninth consecutive victory.
Coyotes at KINGS (late): Coyotes registered a season-high 40 shots on goal in Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to the Wild.
Senators at CANUCKS (late): Matt Murray stopped 30 shots as the Senators defeated the Canucks 3-0 on Thursday.
