WALK FOR ADDIE

GOING ON: Join the Yuma

Civic Orchestra and String Ambassador­s for its final concert of the season.

Our musicians are looking forward to bringing Yumans an orchestral classics concert where our community can experience the power and imagery that the music brings. Some of the pieces selected for this concert include Egmont, Op. 84 by Ludwig van Beethoven, Hungarian Rhapsody by Franz Liszt and Franz Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony. This concert is dedicated specifical­ly to those in our community and surroundin­g areas who love classical music and who support us all year round.

MCAS YUMA MUD RUN CHALLENGE

WHEN: Heats begin at 6:30 a.m. WHERE: Marine Corps Air Station Yuma

GOING ON: Presented by Marine Raiders, the MCAS Yuma

Mud Run Challenge features a custom-built course of 2.7 miles of desert terrain, plus 8 obstacles. Open to ages 13 and up. All participan­ts and spectators must have a ticket to attend. Spectator tickets are for those who do not have base access.

COST: Registrati­on is $50 for active duty, $55 for civilian, spectators are free

Wednesday May 18 WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA FUNDRAISER

WHEN: All day

GOING ON: Present the code 533-537-330 at the diner or for any online orders and Wreaths Across America will receive

20% of all food orders. The funds will be used to purchase live wreaths for veterans’ graves at Desert Lawn Memorial Park and Sunset Vista Cemetery on Wreaths Across America Day, Dec. 17.
