Jesse Vargas, a student at AZTEC High School, checks out the sign he and some Aztec classmates, along with students from Educationa­l Opportunit­y Center Charter High School created in partnershi­p with Weld Like A Girl. The latest city-student collaborat­ion “Welcome” sign, located at the southwest corner of Avenue A and 34th Place, which was part of a “mini-beautifica­tion project ” was unveiled Thursday morning . “As with previous signs, local high school students took a large role in the project,” said the City of Yuma.
