“THE BATMAN”

The comic-book-based saga certainly has had its share of retellings, and director and co-screenwriter Matt Reeves’ recent, lengthy (just under three hours) take earned largely favorable reviews. “Twilight” alum Robert Pattinson assumes the role of Bruce Wayne, who has to question whether his family’s history is part of what drives the dastardly Riddler (Paul Dano) to target Gotham’s top politicians. Zoe Kravitz plays Catwoman and Colin Farrell is The Penguin in a cast that also includes Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Andy Serkis and Peter Sarsgaard. DVD extra: “making-of” documentary.
