Thursday June 9 YUMA MAYORAL CANDIDATE FORUM

WHEN: 6:30-8 a.m.

WHERE: Arizona Western College Schoening Conference Center, 2020 S. Avenue 8E

GOING ON: Join the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce’s Good Moring Yuma event for a forum designed to learn more about each of the candidates for mayor of the city of Yuma and their positions of issues of concern to the community.

COST: $25 for members, $45 for non-members with advanced registrati­on. Tickets at the door are $35 for members and $55 for nonmembers.

Saturday June 11 FLAG DAY CEREMONY

WHEN: 1 p.m.

WHERE: The Elks Lodge No. 476, 1917 W. 32nd St.

GOING ON: Boy Scout Troop

8051 will take part in a Flag Day ceremony, with a presentati­on of the history of the U.S. Flag.

COST: Free, open to the public

CAR WASH BENEFIT

WHEN: 8 a.m. to noon

WHERE: FTS Automotive, 1701 S. Arizona Ave.

GOING ON: A Troop 8051 Eagle Scout project, FTS will host a car wash to benefit the new flag pole at Yuma Lutheran School.

COST: Suggested donation is $5 per car. Presale tickets are available at Christ Lutheran Church.

Wednesday June 15 TRAIN RIDES

WHEN: 8-10 a.m.

WHERE: Yuma Crossing Railroad, Riverside Park below the Yuma Territoria­l Prison

GOING ON: Free train rides will be offered to the public by the Yuma Territory Live Steamers. No tickets are required

COST: Free, although donations are gladly accepted

Friday June 17 PRIDE MARCH

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: March starts at Maverick on 4th Avenue, traveling down 4th Avenue to the Heritage Library, turning there to Main Street, and ending at Red Moon Ale House.

GOING ON: This family-friendly event is 100% inclusive and handicap accessible. Participan­ts are encouraged to dress up, make signs and be themselves.
