“BILLIONS: SEASON SIX”

-

The Showtime drama series about money and power underwent a major change in this round, with founding cast member Damian Lewis leaving the show and Corey Stoll being upped to star billing as wealthy Michael Prince, who has purchased the hedge-fund firm built by Lewis’ Bobby

“Axe” Axelrod. The remaining employees hold their collective breath to see what Prince has in store, and apart from his vastly different management style, there are plenty of surprises ... and for the firm’s clients, too. Expectedly, Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) is keeping close watch

after regaining his power in the legal arena, a quest that eventually brings him to New York’s state capital Albany (where some scenes were filmed on location).

Piper Perabo joins the cast as Prince’s wife, who has her own agenda; Maggie Siff and David Costabile are among other continuing cast members. (Not rated:

“HACKS: SEASON ONE”

Veteran actress Jean Smart –of “Designing Women” and about a zillion other credits – has been a favorite on the award circuit, encompassing a Primetime Emmy win among other honors, for this edgy

HBO Max series. She plays a Las Vegas comedian whose career has stalled, prompting her to take on a young writer (Hannah Einbinder, daughter of “Saturday Night Live” alum Laraine Newman) who hopefully can give her the material she needs to stay relevant. Recurring cast members include Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), Christopher McDonald and Jane Adams; the show is now in its second season. (Not rated:
