Ryan Richard Michael Ralph Jacobs

-

December 1, 1992 - February 2, 2023

Ryan Richard Michael Ralph Jacobs was born December 1st, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Richard "Rick" Jacobs and Jolene Sitera. He stepped into heaven at age 30, on February 2nd, 2023 at his home in Yuma, Arizona.

As a child, Ryan was treasured and loved deeply. Born with a heart defect, he spent many months in medical care. He was surrounded with love and doted on by his family, especially his sisters. The very reason Ryan has so many middle names was due to each sister and his Mother wanting to contribute to naming him.

A graduate of Gila Ridge High School, Ryan was a talented musician and songwriter. Among the songs he wrote were some dedicated to his sister, Krystal, who supported and raised him after the death of their Mother. He worked in a number of restaurants in Yuma first as dishwasher, later transitioning to cook. Ryan was a caring, intelligent young man who fell into the grip of addiction. But he would not wish to be defined by addiction and mistakes. Ryan lit up the room with his smile and charm. He loved family deeply, and stated openly how he regretted missing out on so much, and hurting those closest to him, because the hold drugs had on his life. Ryan believed strongly in second chances, and wanted nothing more for fellow addicts than to have another chance. Ryan channeled his own recovery work through actively providing peer support. He was proud of that accomplishment and created a circle of care through his involvement with the recovery community. Many have come forward to speak of how Ryan encouraged them to keep up their recovery work. At the time of his death, Ryan was looking forward to a fresh start and an opportunity to be involved in the life of his daughter, Genesis. Ryan was a man of strong faith in God. Among his possessions were many Bibles.

We who loved him are counting on the promise that Ryan joined his Mother, Jolene Dawn Sitera in Heaven and has seen Jesus face to face. Others who preceded Ryan in death are his Maternal Grandfather, George Sitera; Maternal Grandmother Jerralyn Sheppard Sitera Dean; Paternal Grandparents, Ralph and Ann Jacobs.

Ryan is survived by his daughter, Genesis Lopez; Father, Richard Jacobs, of Nevada; sisters Joylyne Roman and Krystal (Jake) Arsaga of Yuma, Arizona; and brother Jon Jacobs of San Diego, CA. Ryan was uncle to nephews Trevor Salinger, Noah Roman, Lane and Blake Arsaga, and Luke Moralez. His nieces include Dallas Arsaga, Gabrielle Remmy, and Soleia Moralez.
