Janet Marie Pearson

(Jennie Prettyman) was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmothe­r, and friend to many. She was a bright, shining beacon of hope and love to all she knew, sharing and living out her faith and hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She could light up a room just by walking in, with her largerthan-life personalit­y, contagious laugh, and beautiful smile. She passed away on February 2, 2023, and while we will miss her dearly, our fondest memories will be held tightly until we meet again. Her legacy will continue for generation­s to come.

Born to Edgar Ray (Jack) Pearson, Sr., and Esther Aileen Pearson on December 13, 1948, in Picacho, AZ. She attended schools first in Eloy, AZ and made her way to Wellton as a teenager with her parents. She worked various jobs including waitressin­g, field work, custodial work, and coaching t-ball & softball. Loving the outdoors, she would volunteer for Campfire Girls and various youth events with her children. She played softball on a team, enjoyed hiking and skating amongst other activities. Singing and dancing were some of her favorite pastimes; her instrument­s of choice were piano, organ, guitar, mandolin, and tambourine. She also loved to cook and bake for everyone.

She is survived by her husband, David E. Prettyman, children Penny Correa and husband Arturo, Vanessa Rolon and husband Melvin, Tonnette Keiser and her family, Tony Nieto and his wife Cassie, her sister Esther Alice Hale and her family, and brother Eddie Pearson and his wife Blanca. She also leaves behind her sons-in-law Jorge L. Douglas and Monty W. Bumpous as well as 20 grandchild­ren, 44 great grandchild­ren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband of 19 years Antonio C. Nieto, son Quest Marquis Gardner, son-in-law David K. Keiser, and nephew Jimmy Wayne Hale.

A celebratio­n of life will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 4pm on the family property 23710 E. Hwy 80 in Wellton, AZ. Anyone who knew Jennie is welcome to stop by.
