Margaret Ellen (Peggy Logan) Randle

September 7, 1947 - December 15, 2022

-

Margaret Ellen (Peggy Logan) Randle left this world on December 15, 2022. She was born September 7, 1947 to Daniel and Margaret Fraser in Lewistown, Montana. Peggy had 4 big brothers, Daniel, Owen, Rich, and William who all adored their baby sister. They gave her a confidence that helped her live a full life that inspired many young cowgirls and cowboys.

Peggy was born a cowgirl. Peg got her first horse, Pete, from her big brother Rich, when she was three. Pete was a little cowgirl's dream. They used to play all day in the yard. Peggy would build single row brick walls around Pete for corrals and used a rigged up rope in the barn to saddle him. Peg's mother tried to get her to come inside and do “women's work” but Peg wasn't interested. Her place was outside, in the barn with her dad..

Peggy's family moved around to many ranches that her dad managed throughout Montana. When she was six they were living in Red Lodge where she started school but by the school years end they were in Winnett, Montana at her great uncles place, Fraser Land and Cattle Company. Winters were hard but summers were spent horseback riding and fishing in the creeks on the ranch. When Peg was in the fifth grade the family moved to the Great Falls area where they lived for several years. While attending high school in Great Falls Peggy began her rodeo career. After high school, Peggy moved onto Bozeman where she attended Montana State University and competed on their rodeo team in goat tying and barrel racing. Peggy won the College Rodeo Finals in goat tying in 1969.

Peggy moved to Yuma after graduation with four college friends who all became teachers in the Yuma area. Peg soon became a Yuma High School Criminal PE and typing teacher. Peggy loved teaching, but her passion was in the arena where she taught rodeo and gymkhana through Arizona Western College. Many cowgirls and cowboys, both young and old, got their riding starts in Peggy's classes.

Peggy could rope and ride with the best of men. She once got pulled off a horse which knocked her out. When the doctors told her she fell off her horse, she replied, “There's more to that story because I don't just fall off my horse”. That was Peg- blunt and tough, but with a sweet side that made her many friends. She never met a stranger and quickly became everyone's friend. Peggy knew people from all walks of life and loved meeting up with them at the National Finals Rodeo events in Las Vegas every year. Peggy's fierce determination, quick-wit, and generous spirit were well noted by anyone around her.

She married Guy Logan in 1972 and they had two daughters, Cheri and Terri- Peggy's pride and joy. Her daughters rode from the time they could walk and both became horsewomen with many titles of their own. Their time spent in the arena with their mom made them the tough cowgirls they are today. Their children, Guy, Caleb, Zane, and Emma completed Peggy. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them.

After Guy's passing in 1997, Peggy married George Randle, a Canadian rancher, and Peg lived for 10 years in Calgary. Peggy helped George on the ranch with bookkeeping, farming, and ranch work. After George's passing, Peggy moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in the summers and spent her winters in Yuma until recently where she decided one place was enough and moved back to Yuma permanently.

Peggy is survived by her daughters and grandchildren, her son in law, Clint Bedoya, her long time friend, Duane Bruce and two brothers, Rich (Vicki) Fraser and Owen Bud Fraser, sister in law, Judi Fraser, several nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.

A memorial service will be held for Peggy on March 25, 2023 at the Yuma County Mounted Posse Grounds, 14250 S Ave. A Extension, Yuma, Arizona at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Peggy's name to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. justincowboycrisisfund.org
