“Movie: Philomena”

Judi Dench earned an Oscar nomination as the title character in director Stephen Frears’ factbased 2013 comedy-drama, the tale of a woman’s search for the offspring she gave up a half-century earlier. Steve Coogan (who also co-wrote the script) does fine acting as Martin Sixsmith, the ex-reporter who joins her on her trek in the hope of getting a story out of it.
