GOING ON: Arizona Western College will present the Winter Choral Concert, “With Songs of Rejoicing,” with the AWC Chamber Singers under the direction of Deltrina D. Grimes and Yuma Chorale directed by Laura Surguine. The choirs will perform music selections that reign from the traditiona­l choral repertoire as well as exciting, lesser-known compositio­ns in Spanish and Latin.

While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the kids spell their way through a series of (potentiall­y made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, poutinduci­ng, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.
