Eric Benton Wright

July 19, 1990 - May 1, 2023

-

In loving memory of Eric Benton Wright who was unexpectedly called home to be with our Lord on May 1, 2023. Eric was 32 years old. Eric was living in Tucson, AZ, as he was working towards his goal of moving to Los Angeles, CA, to work in the movie industry. Eric was a great planner and always striving to better himself.

Eric was a licensed cosmetologist and a graduate of the Paul Mitchell The School Phoenix and was attending Full Sail University online studying Digital Cinematography. He often worked multiple jobs in the beauty and hair industry as well as tending bar while going to school. As a young child, Eric was involved in the Public School Systems program for the Gifted and Talented, Odyssey of the Mind. Odyssey of the Mind ignited his creative talents and allowed him to showcase his artistic nature. Eric was also a member of the Yuma High Choralaires. He was in his element performing and making people smile. Eric was also adventurous and spent a year in the Philippines as a trainer for Team Mobile. He had a love for Vlogging and sharing his creative flare with others. Eric had a passion for adding color and light to all that he touched. He possessed the gift of laughter and was born with a larger-than-life personality.

Eric loved his family, his friends, and God. He kept in contact with his Mom and brother, Tyler, daily and usually ended their conversations with, I'll pray for you. He and Tyler shared a love for scary movies and always had plans to watch the newest release together. Had he lived out his life's dream, no doubt, he would have been legendary!

He was preceded in death by his maternal Grandfather, Jesus (Chuy) Ramirez and his paternal Grandmother, Paula Wright.

Eric is survived by his mother, Martha Wright; father, Mark Wright; brothers, Sean and Tyler; sister, Heather Dudley; maternal Grandmother, Rosa Ramirez; aunt, Rita Gregg (Rick); uncle, Joe Ramirez; paternal Grandfather, Benton K. Wright of Kentucky and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eric will always be remembered by his echoing, grand laugh and his unmatched energy. He will be missed and loved forever. As Eric used to say, “Remember, you belong here and you're part of something beautiful”!

A private Celebration of Life will be held in Yuma on May 26, 2023.
