Barber wins Mesa del Sol Men’s Club Championship
Curt Barber won the Mesa del Sol Men’s Association Club Championship with a 2-day total 148. Gerald Larrabee was the overall net Champion. Flight gross winners were Bruce Mckinney, Tony Kossey, Brian Mccaffrey and Jack Parker. Flight net winners were Richard Bosch, Harry Mckemy, Tom Mcfarland and Roger Olson.
In the Yuma Golf and Country Club Ladies League low net format Kathie Bone finished first with Gail Duffield second and Tracy Fitzherbert third.
In the Las Barrancas Women’s League Loretta Schneider and Dorothy Gartner won gross. Dawn
Diamond and Linda Mclaughlin were the net winners. Reta Boechler, Marilyn Denny, Heather Purdy and Chris Tastad were on the winning team. In the Silver League Wayne Constantinoff, Marco Viloria and Hubert Gartner won gross. Frank Mason, Gary Kuehl and Charlie Bubar were the net winners. Hankgray, Ken Kingston, Leroy Rosen and Frank Russell were on the winning team. In the Copper Men’s League Tony Hammons, Frank Russell and Mardy Clark won gross. Larry Garrett, Cliff Couse and Dennis Wagner were the net winners. Dennis Seamons, Mike Vanatta, Randy Munch and Chuck Mcguffie were on the winning team.
In the Foothills Executive Women’s League Loretta
Schneider, Julie Handrahan and Dawn Diamond won gross. Susan Jones, Gail Sherwin and Bev Johnson were the net winners. Carol Franzen, Toni Abott, Rita Gravelle and Linda Mclaughlin were on the winning team. In the Men’s League Jim Laycock, David Richelderfer and Will Young won gross. Jerry Denny, Mike Bowen and Tim Weir were the net winners.
Ken Kingston, Tom Scott, Tim Kral and Paul White were on the winning team.
There was a 3-way tie In the Moose Lodge Scramble at Mesa del Sol. Winning teams included WOJO, Roger Olson, Joyce Martin with Tim Sokolik, Knute Hammer, Moe Mostad, Robert Strait with Bill Lynch and Dianne Bailey, Bill
Johnson, Jim Flood with Bob Lauer.

Sol Can Am Men’s League 3 of 4 net best balls Raymond Throckmorton, Bob Dickson and Terry Matthews won with 72 points. Reg Marshall, Maurice Thom, Robert Nealer and Dale Balmer were second at 67. Jake Fehr, Terry Peleshosky, Jack Parker and Tony Kossey were third with 65 points.
In Al’s Picks at Mesa del Sol Robert Nealer took first place with Steve Parrish and Sam Sampler tied for second. In the Ladies Putting League at Mesa del Sol Jessica Chase repeated winning gross with a 1 over par 37. Lynette Bennett won the second flight.

Ladies League 2-person pro points best ball gross flight winners were Colleen Scott with Shannon Mason, Linda Scott with Donna Sawatzky and Betty Szmyrko with Judy Larden. Flight net winners were Deb Ellison with Cathy Francis, Ann Weber with Phyllis Mashburn and Leann Thom with Heather Mccarthy.
In the Mesa del Sol Men’s Association Scramble Robert Sage, Larry Wolcott, Michael Celentano and Tony Kossey won with a 19 under par 53. Roland Vorrath, Jack Parker, Ron Stirler and Terry Matthews were second at 54. Clifford Weber, Mike Hancock, Wayne Winslow and Harry Mckemy were third, also at 54.
