Robert Clay Callis passed away March 9, 2024 in Yuma, AZ at the age of 86. Bob was born on July 23, 1937 in Ada, Oklahoma. He went to Antioch High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as an air traffic controller. He was a member of the Elks Club for 58 years. Bob spent over 70 years in the car business. Car sales were his passion and he loved training other salesmen and managers in this vocation. He owned the Yuma Datsun Dealership and a used car dealership, Freeway Auto Sales, on 16th Street. Eventually he went to work as a longtime manager for Fisher Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and had many wonderful employees and comanagers that he had remained friends with throughout his life. Bob was extremely proud of his family and friends. He loved spending time with his wife working on their horse property, in the county, with many animals that they loved and cared for throughout the years. Bob was an avid golfer and spent many years playing at the Desert Hills Golf Course and Yuma Country Club. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Lee Clapsaddle and Henry Clay Callis III; brother, Larry Callis; and sister, Connie Clapsaddle Hill; parent-inlaws, Tony Ferrara and Rosalie Ferrara. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Judy Callis; his son, Jason Shepard and daughter-in-law Sarah Shepard; grandchild­ren, Emily and Alex; sisters, Donna Schweiger (husband George), Janice Callis Coffman; brother, Bill Clapsaddle; sister-in-law, Pam Denman (husband Bob); and several nieces and nephews. His longtime, wonderful friends: Wade and Jody Dyson, Elmer and Betty Fields, Ramon and Maria Malone, Arnold and Lucy Urias, Ed and Suzanne Peterson, Sal Peña, and Luis Arias.
