Four homicides recorded in two days in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son.
Four reports of armed attacks and shootings were attended to by elements of the city police, state police, and other law enforcement agencies on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the socalled Red Code, which mobilizes police forces due to armed attacks, was activated three times.
The first resulted in the location of an individual with a gunshot wound to the head, in the Joyas del Parque neighborhood, east of San Luis Rio Colorado, Son.
Another victim, in a separate report, was found on Coahuila Avenue and 34th Street, in front of an alleged clandestine casino, while the third homicide victim was located on Canada Street and San Emeterio, southwest of the city.
On Wednesday, the Red Code was activated due to the discovery of a person shot dead in a residence on Ejido B Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets.
As of Wednesday afternoon, no further details had been provided by any law enforcement agency regarding any of the incidents.
Attempted homicide with homemade rifle in Mexicali
In incidents that occurred in Mexicali, the Municipal Public Security Directorate (DSPM) detained Luis Humberto “N,” aged 53, suspected of causing injuries, and a homemade shotgun-type weapon was found in his possession.
The incident occurred in the Los Encinos neighborhood, southeast of the city, in front of a store where a man with a gunshot wound to the head was found. He identified Luis Humberto as the assailant.
The injured man stated that he was in front of a commercial establishment when, for no apparent reason, the man approached him and shot him at close range, with a bullet lodging in his neck at the level of the left ear.
The accused fled the scene, but was later located and a shotgun-type weapon “fabricated” from a piece of metal pipe and a wooden handle was seized from him, which allegedly was used to commit the assault.
The injured man was transported to a hospital for medical treatment, and the suspect was handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
Fire engulfs pallet establishment
On Monday night, a fierce fire consumed more than 38,000 wooden pallets in a business located on Obregón Avenue and 48th Street, northeast of San
Luis Rio Colorado, Son.
Around 11 p.m., the intense fire was reported, requiring the attention of the three fire departments operating in the city, and firefighting efforts continued until around 4 a.m. on Tuesday to extinguish it.
Authorities stated that there were no injuries or smoke inhalation cases, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. City firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and rural firefighters worked together to extinguish it.
