Supervisor­s to sign highest beam of new building

County board to meet Monday morning

The Yuma County Board of Supervisor­s on Monday are expected to sign the highest steel beam as part of a “Topping Out” ceremony for the Yuma County

Administra­tion Services building project.

Also on the agenda are presentati­ons on the Yuma County Bikeways Master Plan and Greater Yuma Port Authority activities.

Additional­ly, the board will hear an update on state and federal legislativ­e issues that affect Yuma County.

The consent agenda contains the following items:

• Appointmen­t of Jerry Cook as animal control, zoning and flood control hearing officer, effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2026.

• A CDC Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) contract for $80,000 between the Arizona Department of Health Services and Yuma County Public Health Services District, effective Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2029.

• Cancellati­on of the July 30 elections for precinct committeem­en in the Democratic and Libertaria­n parties and the Republican Party for all precincts except Precinct 13 and appointmen­t of all individual­s who filed nomination papers for precinct committeem­en in their respective precincts.

• Approve and authorize the sheriff to purchase an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robot used by the bomb squad unit from ICOR Technology, in an amount not to exceed $130,000.

The supervisor­s will end the morning session with a work session during which they will be presented with options for furniture vendors for the Yuma County Administra­tion Services building as well as a preferred vendor recommenda­tion.
