Pauline “Angie” Pasqual Jose, 90, of the Fort Yuma Quechan Indian

Reservatio­n left this earth to be with the Creator on May 15, 2024; just 2 weeks shy of her 91st birthday. Pauline was born May 28, 1933,and resided on the Quechan Reservatio­n, Fort Yuma,ca.

Pauline's formal education began on the Fort Yuma Reservatio­n and was then a graduate of the Class of 1954 from Yuma Union High School. Pauline was a member of the Yuma High School Band as well as a member of the orchestra. Her favorite instrument was the French horn.

After high school, Pauline worked in several motels in Yuma as a housekeepe­r, and before leaving the hotel industry, she was a housekeepi­ng supervisor at Yuma Cabana.

Soon after, Pauline went to work with the Quechan Tomato Farms until the farm closed. After the closure of the farm, she went on to become the Museum Director at the Quechan Museum until she retired in 2024, after 45 years of service.

Pauline was active in many tribal projects as a member of the Quechan (Kwatsan) Cultural Committee. A fluent Quechan speaker, she, with the committee,represente­d the Quechan people in Yuma, as well as in the local and national levels of government. She made many friends and could be found at the many casinos throughout the desert southwest.

Pauline was the fourth child born to Powell Pasqual and Cora Ward Pasqual. She is survived by her brother, Dave R. Pasqual of Winterhave­n; as well as many cousins; nieces; nephews; great nieces; and great nephews. Her surviving nephews, include Everett G. Arrow (Charlene) of Santa Rosa, CA, Ronald Arrow (Vanessa) of Winterhave­n, Ray Pasqual (Missy) of Winterhave­n, and Paul Pasqual (Vanessa) of El Monte, CA; Nieces, Bernadine, and Jerilyn Swift Arrow of Winterhave­n, Karen Ward of Yuma, Lauren Mike of

New Mexico, Iris Ward of Oregon, Beverly and Shirley Ward of Tucson, AZ, and Nicole Pasqual of Winterhave­n; Great nieces, Lindsey Swift Arrow, (Yadira) of Winterhave­n, Mary Bixler (Peter) of Yuma, Timmarie and Allesandra Swift Arrow of Phoenix, AZ, Arissa Arrow of Winterhave­n; Great nephews, Justin Ward of Tucson, AZ, David Ward of Yuma, David Huisman of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Charles Arrow of Winterhave­n, Ryan Arrow (Rebecca) of Santa Rosa, CA, James Arrow of Yuma, and Eric Arrow of Winterhave­n.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Leroy Ward, Philbert and Roger Pasqual; sisters, Marceline, Coretha, and Elsabeth Pasqual; and her husband, Sylvester Jose; Her nieces, Coranne Swift Arrow, Justine Ward, and Florina Pasqual; and her nephew, Juanito Romero, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at Yuma Mortuary on Wednesday, May 22nd from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. From there, a graveside service will be held at the Quechan Cemetery at 5:00 pm.
