This year, the competitions organized by the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) are held in three continental groups. Uzbek Tigers participates in competitions of the American continent together with such strong teams as Colombia Heroicos (Colombia), Cuba Domadores (Cuba) and Caciques de Venezuela (Venezuela).

The first meeting of group competitions our boxers spent on departure and lost to the Cuban team Cuba Domadores. This time, the two teams met in the ring in the sports complex Universal in Tashkent. And in the Cuban sportsmen there were both Olympic champions and winners of the world championships.

In the weight category of 49 kilograms, our Olympic champion Hasanboi Dusmatov defeated Oscar Argilogas Perez, in the next matches Shahobiddin Zoirov defeated Robaysy Ramireza (56 kilograms), Isroil Madrimov, Arlene Lopez Cardona (75 kilograms), and Sanjar Tursunov -Erislandi Savona. Our young boxer Ikboljon Kholdorov lost to Andy Cruz Gomez. Thus, the duel between Uzbek Tigers and Cuba Domadores ended in favor of our boxers with score 4:1.

“We are very carefully preparing for each battle,” says Isroil Madrimov. “Before the competition, we analyzed how each opponent moves in the ring. As a result, an important victory was achieved. We hope that we will also successfully perform in the next meetings.”

Now our boxers will meet on March 1 in Tashkent with the team Colombia Heroicos.

“We are pleased that Uzbekistan has organized a high-level meeting of the VIII season of the World Series of Boxing,” says supervisor of the tournament Pat Fiakko (Canada). “This shows that your country pays much attention to the development of sports and has accumulated solid experience in holding prestigious competitions.”
