Three Different Nuratas
Domestic tour agents have more and more offers for ecotourism every day. As a result, one and the same point on the map can be seen today in different ways. Here, for example, Nurata Reserve. We offer you an overview of the three most popular routes.
Route 1. Upper Hayat - Hayatsai - Tykchasai - Upper Uhum - Upper Hayat.
One-day walking route of average complexity with a length of 8 km (the duration of the excursion is about five hours). It should be borne in mind that hiking and descent on steep slopes create considerable physical stress, so this route should be offered to young or middle-aged people who are in good sports form.
The optimal number of the group is 4 people (three tourists and a local guide).
The purpose of the route: acquaintance with the natural and cultural landscapes of Khayatsai and Tykchasai, with the plant and animal world of the middle mountains of the Nuratau Ridge, observation of various species of birds - typical inhabitants of walnut forests, bushwood and mountain steppe, familiarizing with the traditional way of life of the local Tajik population.
Necessary equipment: binoculars or a telescope, jars for water.
Route 2. Upper Hayat - Uhum - Karysai Mazar Eshon-Bobo - Uhum - Upper Hayat.
An uncomplicated one-day horse or pedestrian route with a length of 10.5 km (duration of the excursion is 4-4.5 hours).
The purpose of the route: acquaintance with the natural and cultural landscapes of Karysai, the plant and animal world of the middle mountains of the Nuratau Ridge, observation of various species of birds - typical inhabitants of walnut forests, shrublands and mountain steppe, inspection of the village of Uhum - one of the oldest settlements of the Nuratau Ridge, traditional way of life of the local population.
Equipment: cavalry saddles, saddlebags (hurjin), binoculars, camp utensils.
Route 3. Sentyab - Lake Fazilman Ustuksai - Sob.
A simple two-day horse or foot ethnoecological route with a length of about 44 km (2 days on the route, 1 night in tents). The best time of year is May-June.
The purpose of the route: acquaintance with the natural and cultural landscapes of Sentobsai, Ustuksai and Sobsai, flora and fauna, bird watching - typical inhabitants of different biotopes of the Nuratau Ridge, sightseeing of Sentyabsai historical monuments, familiarization with the traditional way of life of the local Tajik population.
The optimal strength of the group is 2-4 tourists and two local guides for the equestrian group or one guide for walking.
Necessary equipment: sleeping bags and foam plastic mats (or inflatable mattresses) - according to the number of members of the group, single or double tents, binoculars, cooking utensils (kettle, bowler, bowls, mugs, spoons), primus. For the cavalry group - cavalry saddles (local wooden saddles with short stirrups are very inconvenient for foreigners), saddle bags (hurjin). For the pedestrian group, it is advisable to hire one or two donkeys for carrying luggage, especially if tourists are people who are untrained.
