Construction Works to Be Complete on Time
The first power unit of the Turakurgan thermal power plant (TPP) will be commissioned in December 2019. The launch of the second power unit and the entire station is scheduled for March 2020. Construction work is gaining momentum.
As the inspector of the Namangan territorial branch of Uzgosenergonadzor inspection Sherzod Khojiev notes, the construction works on this important project continue at an active pace. The total project cost of the station, built by the order of Uzbekenergo JSC, is about $ 1.2 billion. By now, the road leading to the facility and communication systems has been built here, along with a two-story building for the administration, fire safety facilities, a concrete plant with a production capacity of 120 cubic meters of goods per hour, as well as a number of other auxiliary structures. In addition, finishing works are being carried out in the construction of two four-storey buildings for the employees of the TPP. 800 workers and 44 special equipment units were involved in construction and installation works.
Based on the results of the tender for financing the construction of TPPs based on the investment program, the consulting company for the project will be provided by the Japanese company TEPSKO. With this company, a contract was signed for more than $ 18.3 million. In addition, the Japanese consortium Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems won the tender as the main contractor. With this company, a contract for $ 749.4 million has been concluded. Since January 1, 2017, the auxiliary contractor - engineering and technical specialists of the Turkish company Salik Enerji - is actively participating in construction and installation works.
