For the Heart to Beat for Longer

A new three-storey building equipped with modern medical technologies has been commissioned in the Republican Cardiology Specialized Scientific and Practical Center. More than a thousand complex cardiosurgery operations a year will be performed here.

The government has assigned over 20 billion soums for the construction of the new edifice. In the meantime, the latest high-quality construction and finishing materials from abroad were used. The installed ventilation system CIAT, which allows for keeping the stable temperature in the room in winter and summer, fills it with purified air. The double rooms are spacious, light and cozy. Functional beds for patients can be moved back and forth.

To equip the building with modern technology, large funds and foreign investments have been allocated. In particular, loans in the amount of 3.5 million euros allocated by the German bank KFW helped outfit the facility with universal angiographic equipment of the Philips brand – Allura Xper FD20, as well as the BARD system for electrophysiological examinations, for moving angiographic equipment, along with a radio frequency generator and other high-tech devices.

The commissioning of a modern building served as a basis for further expansion of scientific and practical activities in the field of cardiology. A new system for clinical and functional examination of patients has been created that meets international standards. Now, patients can undergo examinations in one building: in the functional diagnostics department there are such high-tech rooms with ECG, ECHO, VEM, Treadmill test, HMECG, as well as X-ray rooms, genetic analysis and administration.

The second floor houses the department for interventional arrhythmology for 20 beds, an X-ray surgery unit with all amenities. The third floor is home to a block of interventional cardiology and X-ray endovascular surgery. They allow for conducting all types of surgical operations used in the world medicine.

“The commissioning of the new building gives us the opportunity to carry out the most important tasks in this direction,” said Ravshanbek Kurbanov, director of the Republican Specialized Cardiology Scientific and Practical Center. “Now in the new building, along with the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, their diagnosis and treatment on a systematic basis, we can conduct more than one thousand coronary angiography and stenting operations a year. This method prevents myocardial infarction considered the most acute cardiovascular disease. In the center, other high-tech methods are already successfully performed, including radiofrequency ablation in complex cardiac arrhythmias with cardiac pacing.
