To Help Entrepreneurs
A commission and a regional group for the support and development of entrepreneurship have been formed in Ferghana region.
Promoting free enterprise and ensuring its legal protection is one of the key pillars of economic reforms in Uzbekistan. A great deal of efforts are undertaken to extensively engage business entities in the process of social and economic development in the regions, securing the timely implementation of entrepreneurial initiatives and projects, as well as efficient and rational use of untapped facilities, land and other infrastructure.
The Ferghana regional group composed of representatives of responsible organizations has developed specific measures aimed at studying and practically solving problems on the ground, promoting the realization of promosing projects by business entities.
“The local group formed in accordance with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan on measures to organize the accelerated implementation of entrepreneurial initiatives and projects in the regions, signed 11 September 2018, received 42 appeals, 22 of which were resolved positively,” said Azizbek Abdukholikov, member of the working group, inspector of the department of the regional customs administration. “The rest of the appeals were forwarded to corresponding ministries and government agencies for consideration and decision at the national level.”
Thanks to the group’s support 6 young entrepreneurs, who had been unreasonably waiting for funds provided on the basis of the national program Yoshlar – Kelajagimiz, received loans totaling 1.2 billion soums. In addition, 12 appeals by businesspeople were examined and solved at the premises; they had asked for practical assistance in getting their sites connected to gas, electricity and sewage networks.
“I want to open a nonstate preschool educational institution with a sports focus,” the entrepreneur Shahnoza Madaliyeva says. “However, under various pretexts, I haven’t been granted a loan. I pointed this issue to the regional group for the support and development of entrepreneurship, which positively solved the problem.”
The working group held negotiations with the Belarusian company, Brestmyasomolprom Concern, to promote exports of agricultural products grown in the region.
In addition, on-site dialogues are organized with businesspeople. The proposals on addressing outstanding issues related to entrepreneurial activity, implementation of initiatives and promising projects are being studied. Measures are taken to conduct fruitful talks and meetings with potential investors.
In the meantime, 6,250 unused buildings and structures were identified in the region, 223 of them are included in a special program for online trading.
