At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the sports field, training of coaches in winter sports, sports management, psychology, and mutual exchange of experience to improve their skills. Agreements have been reached in a number of areas, in particular, on the creation of a faculty in our country, giving a joint diploma of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sport and a branch of the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Health.
A cooperation agreement was signed between the two universities.
“The attention paid by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the development of physical culture and sports has been bearing the expected fruit, and the Uzbek athletes achieve high results on the world stage,” S. Bakulev said. “Our university also employs highly qualified specialists in training athletes and coaches, weighty scientific research is conducted. We are ready to cooperate with you, to share experience.”
The Russian guest got acquainted with the activities of the capital’s sports facilities and educational institutions, the conditions created in our country for sports.
Located in St. Petersburg, the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health is considered a leading institution of higher education in its direction, not only in Russia, but also throughout the world. Established in 1896, the university has trained more than 1,700 honored masters of sports and international category to this day. Over 300 university students became winners and medalists of the European and world championships.
