New Opportunities for Training Olympians
In the Republican College of Olympic Reserve, a turnkey sports complex was commissioned with the first Olympic standard swimming pool in Uzbekistan.
Much attention in our country is paid to the education of fullydeveloped youth, support for its initiatives, and the creation of conditions for the realization of their potential. Constant work is underway on the construction and reconstruction of sports facilities that meet international standards.
The opening ceremony of the new sports facility was attended by Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Muminzhanov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan J. Matchanov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan V. Tyurdenev, as well as representatives of the Children’s Sport Development Fund , The Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, athletes, coaches.
According to the representatives of the company-developer, the sports complex is a unique structure that meets all the requirements for preparing athletes to fulfill the Olympic standards. The building has the necessary conditions for training, conducting lectures and practical exercises. The pool itself is not just a water structure, but a complex with innovative equipment specially imported from Spain and Denmark. The smart water analysis system independently generates and distributes cleaning reagents, maintains the appropriate temperature. Starting tables, dividing ribbons, flagpoles, stairs, markings of the bottom and end walls of the pool bowl meet the most modern requirements of the International Federation of FINA. There is also an interactive scoreboard, lighting equipment, special panels for the finish line.
“In accordance with the Decree of the President of our country “On measures to fundamentally improve the system of public administration in the field of physical culture and sports” dated March 5, 2018, we, together with the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, pay special attention to improving working methods at Olympic colleges,” says Secretary General of the NOC of Uzbekistan Z. Matchanov. “A new modern sports complex, built with the support of the international group of companies VEON, will allow preparing Olympians in conditions close to the competition ones.”
In addition to the pool and training classes, the complex is equipped with a fencing and training halls, a medical office and rooms for accommodating athletes for the duration of the competitions.
