Cities to Be­come ‘Smarter’

Sin­ga­pore-based Univer­sal Suc­cess En­ter­prises plans to build a “smart city” in the Tashkent re­gion for $ 2.5 bil­lion.

The cor­re­spond­ing mem­o­ran­dum was re­cently signed among rep­re­sen­ta­tives of a Sin­ga­porean com­pany, the State Com­mit­tee on In­vest­ments and the State Com­mit­tee for the De­vel­op­ment of Tourism in Tashkent.

“On the part of a for­eign com­pany, it is planned to im­ple­ment a project on the con­struc­tion of a “smart city” in the Tashkent re­gion in the pe­riod 2019-2021 by at­tract­ing for­eign di­rect in­vest­ment in the amount of $ 2.5 bil­lion,” the State In­vest­ment Agency re­ported.

Univer­sal Suc­cess En­ter­prises has ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in the con­struc­tion of smart and in­dus­trial cities. In par­tic­u­lar, the com­pany im­ple­mented a project to build Kolkata West In­ter­na­tional City on the ter­ri­tory of 152 hectares and the Dholera Spe­cial In­vest­ment Re­gion on the ter­ri­tory of 400 hectares in In­dia.
