Fete de la Musique,
June 21st, Vanuatu.
Fête de la Musique first started in France in 1982 and thirty years later this event is held in over one hundred countries, always on June 21st. In Vanuatu, the festival has been going since 1994. Produced by Alliance Française and supported by local businesses, this is a day of music where local bands have the opportunity to share their music with their audience and collaborate and network with one another. Events will be held in Efate, Tanna, Mota Lava, Malakula and Santo. In Port Vila, there will be several stages on the seafront and at Alliance Française. This year, the event will showcase a hip hop contest with the best artist selected to go to Noumea’s international Hip Hop competition. All concerts are free; a great evening of local music to be enjoyed by all!
