4For hun­dreds of years the Lope Lope river has flowed down to the sea car­ry­ing fine sand that has spread out to cre­ate a wide ex­panse of beach that has grown and spread – now it is one of the very few beaches in Van­u­atu that have over 100 me­tres of clean white sand at low tide, with sand­banks where seabirds flock to rest and chit­ter chat­ter while they do. At the edge of the sand, the wa­ter in­vites you in to swim, year round, with tem­per­a­tures never be­low 27 de­grees - at high tide you can sim­ply swim di­rectly from your ‘back door’. A lit­tle fur­ther out, world-class coral reefs with mag­nif­i­cent colours and a myr­iad of fish swimming amongst it are a snorkeler or diver’s par­adise. The beau­ti­ful Aese Is­land lies across the wa­ter pro­vid­ing a huge break­wa­ter that pro­tects the in­ner beach from ocean swells and waves. On one side of the sub­di­vi­sion, the river runs down to the sea and you can swim in the ‘blue’ hole where it deep­ens and widens just be­fore it spills out onto the beach. Dur­ing WW2 this was a pop­u­lar R & R spot for the troops sta­tioned here, with its wide ex­panses of sand pro­vid­ing a place to kick a ball around or sim­ply soak up the trop­i­cal sun and re­lax. This is Tides Reach. Just 11 kms from Lu­ganville, on a sealed road with mains power con­nected. All blocks are 40 me­ters wide at the wa­ter­front and vary in size from around 3,400m2 to 3950m2. There are just four wa­ter­front blocks left with five on the river frontage. Al­ready some of the nicest homes in Santo have been built in the area so you are as­sured of a good neigh­bour­hood to main­tain the value of your in­vest­ment. Ma­ture trees fringe the beach on the wa­ter­front blocks pro­vid­ing pri­vacy and valu­able shade for your per­sonal slice of par­adise.
