Thousands of youth to join summer volunteer projects
HCM CITY HCM City Communist Youth Union on Wednesday announced its volunteer campaigns for youth for the summer.
Ngoâ Minh Haûi, deputy secretary of the Hoà Chí Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), said the campaigns aim to promote the important role of youth in contributing to the citys cultural, social and economic development.
The activities will take place in the citys 24 districts, Thoå Chu Island of Kieân Giang Province, several other provinces, and in Laos and Cambodia.
With the theme Volunteers Gain Experience and Grow Up, the 13th
(Red Flamboyant) Volunteer Campaign for 40,000 high school students and young teachers will begin on June 3 and end on July 1.
The campaign will include activities to build a civilised urban lifestyle in the city, protect the environment, adapt to climate change, and provide courses in social skills and life experiences for students.
From June 24 to August 12, the 12th (Green
March) Volunteer Campaign is expected to attract about 18,000 volunteers.VNS
