Vieät Nam and Cam­bo­dia will con­tinue en­hanc­ing ties among lo­cal­i­ties and within the frame­work of the Cam­bo­dia-Laos-Vieät Nam tri­an­gu­lar de­vel­op­ment.

They pledged to con­tinue to man­age the shared border in line with al­readysigned treaties and agree­ments, while work­ing closely to ful­fill the tar­get of le­gal­is­ing the com­pleted work in border de­mar­ca­tion in 2018. They will con­tinue seek­ing suit­able solutions to fin­ish the re­main­ing work.

The Cam­bo­dian side agreed to con­tinue ap­ply­ing mea­sures to en­sure the le­git­i­mate rights of over­seas Viet­namese in Cam­bo­dia.

The two sides also agreed to implement the mid-term review mech­a­nism to en­sure the ef­fec­tive im­ple­men­ta­tion of agree­ments.

Af­ter the meet­ing, the two min­is­ters signed the min­utes of the meet­ing. The 17th meet­ing of the com­mit­tee will be held in Cam­bo­dia in 2019.

On the same day, Pres­i­dent Traàn Ñaïi Quang hosted Cam­bo­dian Min­is­ter of Foreign Af­fairs and In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion Prak Sokhonn in Haø Noäi.

Min­is­ter Prak Sokhonn briefed his host on the out­comes of the 16th meet­ing of the Vieät Nam-Cam­bo­dia Joint Com­mis­sion on Eco­nomic, Cul­tural, Sci­en­tific and Tech­no­log­i­cal Co­op­er­a­tion, with the min­utes of the meet­ing signed to act as a guide­line for min­istries and sec­tors of both sides to implement their co­op­er­a­tion. —VNS
