HCM City show to fea­ture clas­sic and con­tem­po­rary dance

HAØ NOÄI — A night fea­tur­ing clas­sic and con­tem­po­rary dances by Viet­namese and South Korean artists will be held on De­cem­ber 8 in HCM City.

The dancers from Korean Am­bigu­ous Dance Com­pany, Kim Yong Geol Dance The­atre and HCM Bal­let Sym­phony and Orches­tra (HBSO) will per­form four dances at the show, en­ti­tled

will open with a mod­ern dance en­ti­tled Oblivi­ate. The dance is chore­ographed by Kim Yong Geol based on Ger­man com­poser Max Richer. The chore­og­ra­pher will dance with dancer Kim Da Eun.

Geol is a bal­let star who has re­vived the pop­u­lar­ity of Korean bal­let. He is the first Korean dancer ever to en­ter world-class com­pany by re­ceiv­ing the bronze medal at the Moscow In­ter­na­tional Bal­let Com­pe­ti­tion in 1997. He also won gold medal at the Paris In­ter­na­tional Bal­let Duet Com­pe­ti­tion in 1998. He is cur­rently a bal­let teacher at the Korea Na­tional Univer­sity of Arts.

In the show, Geol and dancer Kim Bo Ram will per­form , a bal­let by Mau­rice Ravel of France. Ram is the artis­tic di­rec­tor and chore­og­ra­pher of Am­bigu­ous Dance Com­pany. He is one of the most pop­u­lar con­tem­po­rary dancers in Korea.
