Easier work rule for Covid patients

-

The Ministry of Health has proposed allowing asymptomatic Covid patients and direct contacts of Covid cases to work during their quarantine period to avoid the wastefulness of manpower.

Under the ministry’s proposal to the national antiCovid steering committee, Covid-infected people with no symptoms are allowed to work on a voluntary basis during their seven-day quarantine. Companies, units and localities might consider giving them online tasks to avoid coming into contact with other people and allowing them to take care of other Covid patients in their families, or at lodging facilities or Covid treatment facilities. Asymptomatic Covid patients who are assigned to work at Covid treatment facilities must not come into direct contact with vulnerable patients. Besides, they are required to go to the workplace from their quarantine facility by their private vehicles and must avoid direct contact with other people on their way.

As for unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated people who have direct contact with Covid cases, they are allowed to work either from home or at the office. Companies must arrange a separate working area for these people if they work at the office. They are allowed to travel to the working area by their private vehicles.

Recently, the government of Long An Province has allowed asymptomatic Covid patients and direct contacts of Covid cases to voluntarily return to work during their quarantine period. The decision was made to ease a shortage of employees at many firms and State-owned agencies in the province.
