What: HCMC’s outlying district plans pedestrian street

How: The HCMC Department of Industry and Trade has been told to work with Hoc Mon District and the relevant agencies over a proposal to set up a night market and a pedestrian street in this outlying district. The facilities would be set up along a road running parallel to the National Highway 22 section passing through Hoc Mon, given that the urban road has long been lined with eateries and often crowded on the weekend. The Hoc Mon government would coordinate with Grand Expo Co., Ltd. to organize these night-time activities, which would take place bimonthly and last 10 days each, starting this month. The district also looks to provide more products under the city’s commodity price stabilization program to consumers to encourage the consumption of domestically produced goods.
