VIETNAM, CHINA TO DEEPEN BILATERAL TIES
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue (L) and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping meet in Beijing on April 8, as part of the former’s ongoing visit to China from April 7 to 12.
Vietnam and China both highly value their bilateral ties and strive to promote deeper and more substantial relations between the two parties and countries.
Xi was the first Chinese leader to meet with Hue, underscoring China’s high regard for the bilateral relationship and the Vietnamese delegation’s visit. Xi affirmed China’s support for Vietnam’s development, stability, and successful construction of socialism suitable to the country’s situation.
Hue said that developing relations with China is a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam’s foreign policy, stressing that Vietnam is consistent in the “One China” policy.
He proposed both sides enhance their strategic connectivity, create new momentum for bilateral cooperation, focusing on boosting trade, expanding goods import, especially Vietnamese farm produce, strengthening connectivity between
Vietnam and major development strategies of China as well as links in railways, highways, sea and air, and promoting cooperation in finance, monetary, and digital transformation.
