Visa: The visa application fee must be paid in advance at Vietnam-russia Bank (No. 1 Yet Kieu, Hanoi), then the receipt can be taken to the Russian Embassy to apply for a visa.
Itinerary: From Vietnam, there are two airlines flying from Hanoimoscow, Vietnam Airlines and Aeroflot. Vietnam Airlines flies to Domodedovo Airport (about 50 km south of Moscow), and Aeroflot flies to Sheremetyevo Airport (about 30 km north of Moscow). Round-trip tickets range from 1720 million VND.
Transportation: You can travel by express train from the airport to the subway station (Pvavelevskaya) or take a taxi to the center of Moscow (about 1 million VND per trip). The public transportation system in Russia is very good, especially the metros in big cities. Almost every train station in Moscow has an adjacent metro system. In Moscow, purchase a multiuse ticket to save money.
Accommodation: Hotels in Russia are not as cheap as in other European countries. You should stay at a dorm or an apartment to save money. In Moscow, it is recommended to book a room around Arbat for the most reasonable and convenient price.
Cuisine: Borscht (beet soup), Russian bread, Russian salad, salmon caviar, shashlik Russian kebab and okróshka cold summer soup are a few dishes to try when coming to Russia.
Weather: Autumn in Russia has temperatures ranging from 15–25°C, very pleasant for Vietnamese tourists. Currency: Russia uses the Russian ruble (RUB), 1 ruble is equivalent to about 352 VND.
Other notes:
The best way to access the internet in Russia is to get a 4G SIM. Tele2 SIM is super cheap, 200 RUB for 2GB internet access (suitable for a stay of 7-10 days) and 120 minutes of free calls to all other networks. You can buy a SIM in airports, metro stations or big shopping centers.
Most attractions provide free luggage service.
