Accomodation: Staying in a Madrid hostel is not too expensive, costing 10– 25 Eur/night/bed. A private room costs 45–60 Eur/night. The hotels or hostels here often raise prices on weekends, peak seasons and festivals.

 Rooms in the area around Plaza Santa Ana are chosen by many visitors because they are in the city center, close to the attractions, metro lines and buses. Lavapiés is a favorite place of backpackers because its room rates are cheaper than other areas, and there are also many small shops and street restaurants around. If you don’t have to worry about budget, Barrio Salamanca, which is the most classy and also considered the safest place in Madrid, will suit you.

Cuisine: The most famous is tapas, a traditional Spanish dish, followed by seafood. However, it is not by the sea so the seafood in Madrid is relatively expensive compared to other food. On the other hand, seafood is shipped quickly so it is very fresh. At some restaurants, if you order beer or wine, you will get free tapas, but not seafood.

Currency: Spain uses the euro (EUR), 1 EUR is equivalent to about 28,000 VND.

Some tourist attractions:

 Royal Palace (Palacio Real De Madrid): This is the official residence of the

Spanish Royal Family, and is also the largest palace in Western Europe. Ticket price: about 10 EUR, free on weekend nights (from 6–8 pm).

 Plaza Mayor: This main square is considered the heart of Madrid. It is a place whose cultural exchanges are famous with millions of visitors each year.

 Santiago Bernabeu Stadium: To a football fan, or a fan of the famous Real Madrid Club in particular, this great place is not to be missed. The Stadium is located near Nuevos Ministerios and is the end of Metro line 8 from the airport to the city. This stadium has a capacity of up to 100,000 people and is a treasured, beautiful symbol of Madrid. Ticket price: 20 Eur/tour trip. Openning time: 10:00– 19:30, from Monday to Saturday; 10:00– 18:30 on Sundays or public holidays.

Estimated cost: The air ticket price and room rate are slightly high, but the overall cost of staying in Madrid is quite affordable. The total cost of a 5-day 4-night trip is about 40.200.000 VND.
