BALLET “GISELLE”

Giselle is a ballet in two acts with a story created by Jules-henri Vernoy de Saint-georges and Théophile Gautier and music was composed by Adolphe Adam. Peasant girl Giselle falls deeply for a young nobleman. She dies of a broken heart when she discovers he is betrothed to another but her spirit from beyond the grave still watches over and protects him. After its debut in Paris in 1841, the ballet was a huge success and has been performed worldwide.

In Vietnam, Giselle was staged by the famous choreographers Yuki Hiroshige and Chloe Glemot. Do Hoang Khang Ninh and Ho
