Visa: Denmark is one of 26 European countries in the Schengen area, so Vietnamese citizens are required to apply for a Schengen visa before leaving. You can apply for this visa at the Embassy or LSQ of any of the Schegen countries if your journey first started in that country or you stayed in that country for the longest time.

Itinerary: Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and one of the major cities in Europe so you can arrive many ways. From Vietnam to Copenhagen is a 13 hour flight or more, and currently there is no direct flight. We flew from Ho

Chi Minh City to Copenhagen and back through Oslo (Norway), so we bought tickets from Russian airline Aeroloft. It is the flight with the shortest duration in travel and transit (in Moscow). Other airlines to choose from are Thai Airways, Qatar or Emirates for a return flight from Vietnam to Copenhagen.

Time: Copenhagen’s weather is divided into 4 distinct seasons, each has its own beauty and attractiveness, so you can travel to Copenhagen at any time of the year.

Transportation: The public transportation system in Copenhagen is very convenient, including buses, subways, trams and trains. If you plan to travel extensively in the city or the surrounding areas, it is best to buy a comprehensive Citypass with many options from 24h,

48h or 72h to be able to use all public transportation.

Accommodation: It really depends on your budget and preferences because there are so many options in this large city. We stayed at the Urban House

Hotel Copenhagen by Meininger, near the central station for about 2 million VND/ double room/ night.

Cuisine: Danish food is quite rich with very strange and delicious fish dishes.

The cost of a main dish at a mid-range restaurant is quite high, from 150 to 200 DKK (about 500-700 thousand VND). Traditional Danish coffee has a very aromatic flavor, served with a layer of cream rather than milk.

Currency: While belonging to the EU, Denmark - like some Nordic countries such as Norway, Sweden, Finland – doesn’t use the Euro but their own currency. The Danish unit of currency is Krone (DKK) and 1 DKK is equivalent to about 3,700 VND.
